My name is Kananii, I was born and raised in Southern California. I moved here in 2017 with my husband and our 2 boys. The first year we had our little girl who is now 5 years old. We love family events and taking our children to all their events and sports. Our community is very important to us, we want to be in a city that brings families together. We still believe that it takes a village to raise our young and I am happy to say that I found that here in Henderson.

I was born and raised in Indiana and graduated from Indiana University with a Masters’ Degree in Business Education. I moved from Southern Indiana to Northwest Indiana for my first teaching job. I taught Junior High Language Arts for 6.5 years then started to work for State Farm Insurance in 1978. I was married for 10 years and have a son and daughter. After the divorce I moved to Henderson to be close to my daughter who had previously moved to the Las Vegas area. My first love is music and have sung since I was 2 years old and have sung in various community and church choirs. I also played the piano, organ, clarinet and bassoon. I still sing in the church choir and direct the hand bell choir.
